Focus Group
University of Birmingham

Can you help the University of Birmingham design the clinical trial testing CBT for Depersonalisation-Derealisation Disorder (CBT-f-DDD)?

They are a research team made up of clinicians from the University of Birmingham, UCL, University of Manchester, and an Expert by Experience. In partnership with Unreal, they are applying for funding to run the first full test of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for DDD in a clinical trial that will span the whole of England.

Before they submit their funding application, they want to make sure they have considered the needs of people with DDD and have included the DDD community’s perspective in their plans.

If you can commit to spending one hour reviewing their ideas and attending a two-hour online meeting to discuss them with the team and other members of the focus group, they would like to hear from you! You will be compensated for your time at a rate of £30 per hour. They expect the meeting to take place in September 2026.

They aim to recruit a small but diverse group of contributors representing range of different experiences of seeking and receiving help for DDD in the UK.

If you would like to be involved, please complete the form before midday Sunday 19th July if you are interested.

They will notify respondents about the outcome of the selection process in early August.
